Regulatory Affairs Leader

Wellington, New Zealand (12 Month Maternity Leave Contract)

Our client, is a world leading premium branded animal health and veterinary pharmaceuticals company. They are committed to creating a healthier future for all of us through science. We are currently looking for a Regulatory Affairs Leader to join the successful animal health division in New Zealand. This leadership role will be providing regulatory and technical support to project teams to drive innovation and results for global impact.

As a Regulatory Affairs Leader, you are passionate about science and pharmaceutical innovation. You have a way of balancing out your thinking with strong analytical and problem solving skills with your ability to execute and drive action. You can run an innovative idea right through from proof of concept to regulatory approval and all the steps in between. You are a self starter, thrive in an agile environment, work well under pressure and are looking for a challenge in your scientific career. You can come up with contingency plans and know how to mitigate regulatory risks.


  • Provide critical strategic and operational leadership on new product and innovation development including registrations
  • Ensure compliance with appropriate legislation, company policies and local procedures are adhered to and interpreted correctly by other internal stakeholder teams such as R&D, Marketing and Technical teams
  • File regulatory applications and lead the submission activities
  • Interdepartmental collaboration with other leadership positions within the organization to plan, organize and conduct projects with the view of reaching milestones within timeframes
  • Manage and grow both internal and external stakeholder relationships to optimize business processes and opportunities
  • Assist in developing and monitoring pharmacovigilance procedures to ensure the local activities are in alignment with the global objectives and local authority requirements


  • Tertiary or Post-Graduate degrees in Veterinary, Pharmaceutical or Biological Sciences
  • Previous experience within a pharmaceutical regulatory role is advantageous
  • Excellent project management skills and working fast paced to meet deadlines
  • Ability to critically review scientific information to ensure arguments and conclusions are supported by data
  • Exceptional written communication skills for report writing and document reviews
