Business Unit Leader 

We are proud to offer this unrivalled and rare opportunity to the market. Our client is an innovative FMCG based company in Australia with a stellar pipeline. As a leader in their field, they are currently looking to find their next Business Unit Leader. The position will be based in Sydney

As the Business Unit Leader, you are skilled in being a leader of positive change in a sales & marketing environment. Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Lead in a manner that creates high engagement and accountability
  • Recruiting, Develop and Retain high quality candidates
  • Manage full P&L for the Business Unit
  • Work collaboratively in the matrix of a cross-functional team
  • Build and foster a team culture that embraces the organisational values
  • Analysis of sales performance, reporting and the ability to provide strategic business recommendations
  • Lead the sales team of key account leaders, retail sales and account managers
  • Drive customer focus across the sales team to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Deliver financial and business objectives
  • Lead the marketing team of brand managers, trade fund manager and digital manager
  • Manage brand and product pricing, exposure and price control
  • Deliver through brand managers annual brand plans, brand messages and transfer these to the sales team and drive accountability around execution
  • Ensure advertising and promotions budgets are managed & collaborate with global marketing
  • Develop new digital capabilities by defining the overall structure of e-marketing activities and acquisition and
  • Retention of customers throughout their lifecycle, manages digital marketing assets (websites, microsites)
  • Work with regional and corporate innovation/R&D organisation to suggest modifications to and future development of business unit related products based on assessment of market need and knowledge of regulatory requirements.
  • Interact with regulatory agencies, Industry personnel and other stakeholders to ensure product awareness, quality, safety and efficacy
  • Active contributor to the Australian Leadership Team

We require the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Life Sciences or Business preferred
  • 7+ years managing a sales and/or marketing team, ideally been part of a leadership team before
  • 3+ years of sales experience (i.e. sales representative, ecommerce, retail sales, key account management)
  • 3+ years of marketing experience (i.e. brand manager, category manger, innovation or launch leader)
  • Extensive financial experience and business acumen (i.e. P&L management, finance background or MBA)
  • Preference for candidates to have extensive leadership experience in FMCG industry
  • Good understanding of digital marketing and ecommerce
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 50% of the time / as required.
