On behalf of our esteemed client, a global leader in innovative animal nutrition and feed solutions, we are seeking a dynamic and strategic Animal Nutrition GM/ Director to spearhead their commercial operations in China.

This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving growth, profitability, and market presence in one of the company's most critical regions. You will be the primary architect of the commercial strategy, managing key accounts, and leading a high-performing sales team to new heights of success.

Your Mission

As the Animal Nutrition Director for China, you will take full ownership of the country's sales performance and strategic direction. Your primary objective is to develop and execute robust business plans that achieve ambitious sales and profitability targets. You will serve as the key liaison between major clients and the global organisation, building deep, multi-level relationships and driving the adoption of a cutting-edge product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement annual business and marketing plans to achieve optimal market penetration and long-term growth.
  • Commercial Management: Drive the achievement of sales and profitability targets, taking the lead in preparing and managing sales, marketing, and expense budgets.
  • Key Account Management: Oversee all key account support activities, developing strong customer relationships to secure and expand business opportunities.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor market dynamics, competitor activities, and industry trends to inform strategy and identify new product opportunities.
  • Forecasting & Reporting: Accurately forecast future sales volumes, monitor performance against budgets, and provide strategic recommendations to regional and global leadership.
  • Team Development: Lead, mentor, and manage the local sales team, ensuring the efficient use of company resources to achieve collective goals.
  • Brand Ambassadorship: Represent the company professionally at industry meetings and events, reflecting its values and leadership position in the market.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a seasoned commercial leader with a deep understanding of the animal nutrition landscape. You are a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and a proven track record of delivering results.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior commercial role (e.g., Sales Director, Commercial Manager) within the animal science, nutrition, or feed industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of animal production practices and industry trends specific to the Chinese market.
  • Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Leadership: Exceptional ability to manage, motivate, and develop a sales team.
  • Commercial Acumen: Strong skills in sales strategy, key account management, and understanding the full marketing mix.
  • Autonomy & Rigor: Highly organised, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to act as a credible liaison between clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

Languages:

  • Fluency in English is essential.
