APAC Regional Key Account Manager – Malt
Location: 
Vietnam preferably, however other locations in SE Asia will be considered depending on the candidate. 

The Job: 
Are you ready to take on a pivotal role in shaping commercial success across the Asia-Pacific region? Our renowned client, a global leader in the malting industry is seeking a dynamic and experienced APAC Regional Key Account Manager to drive commercial strategies, foster key relationships, and ensure the execution of business objectives across the region. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and relationship-building skills to thrive in our dynamic and fast-paced environment in Asia. 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and Execute Commercial Strategy: Craft and implement commercial strategies tailored to the APAC region. Collaborate with Group colleagues and Key Account Managers to present multi-origin proposals to global customers.

  2. Lead Regional Customer Relationships: Foster long-term commercial relationships with key regional customers, focusing on providing sustainable and innovative solutions to meet their needs.

  3. Contract Management: Oversee contract execution, ensuring adherence to terms while maintaining strong relationships and achieving company objectives.

  4. Market Analysis and Reporting: Analyze market trends, economic and political environments across APAC countries. Prepare summary reports for senior management, incorporating insights from global indices and competitor information to maintain competitive positioning.

  5. Distributor Management: Manage, develop, and support a network of key distributors with defined objectives aligned with business goals. Identify and lead market development initiatives while nurturing existing relationships.

  6. Negotiation and Strategic Development: Demonstrate strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen to achieve win-win solutions. Drive strategic development aligned with group objectives within the export market.

  7. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with regional and group commercial peers, as well as functional operational teams, to execute strategies effectively. Support back-office operations and liaise with risk management desks for barley origination and energy management needs.

  8. Sustainability and Brand Awareness: Promote the group's sustainability drive for carbon-neutral emissions to customers and the wider industry. Develop initiatives to drive brand awareness and support sub-branding activities, particularly within craft brewing and distilling markets.

  9. Innovation and Leadership: Participate in innovation development programs and market development activities. Contribute to the regional leadership management team, supporting group and regional objectives.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Achievement of budgeted sales volume, shipped gross margins, and APAC EBITDA.
  • Development and management of cost cards.
  • Effective customer management and resolution of complaints.
  • Contribution to synergies and management of energy surcharges.
  • Strategic negotiations and execution of commercial projects with a long-term view.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Proven experience in key account management or regional sales roles within the APAC region.
  • Previous experience in the agro industry essential.
  • Experience in the brewing or malting industry highly desirable.
  • Strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen.
  • Excellent English communication essential – verbal & written.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within APAC and internationally.
  • Ability to work effectively within diverse teams and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
